Energize the Future - Go Green, Go Renewable

PKNPk's subsidiary, Majuperak Holdings Berhad (MHB), has been at the forefront of renewable energy in Malaysia since 2013, operating a 1.5MW solar farm in Keramat Pulai, Perak. PKNPk's active participation stems from its commitment to harnessing the power of natural resources for sustainable energy solutions. PKNPk's expertise spans diverse renewable energy projects, from ground-mounted solar farms to rooftop installations. MHB has successfully implemented solar rooftop systems for various government agencies and GLCs in Perak, such as in Bazar Ipoh, Majlis Daerah Perak Tengah, Majlis Daerah Selama and Majlis Daerah Pengkalan Hulu, contributing to the state's green initiatives.

As part of the 12th Malaysia Plan, PKNPk's collaboration with Majuperak is making significant strides in the renewable energy sector. A key focus is the exploration of innovative solutions like floating solar to maximize renewable energy generation. Additionally, the company's continuous efforts to materialize the refurbishment of hydroelectric power stations to improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions are a significant aspiration to the government's Net Zero Emission and Low Carbon Aspiration goals.

Bright Ideas for a Brighter Future

Smart & Sustainable Solutions - Efficient, Reliable and Hassle-Free.

These energy efficient and low maintenance systems contribute to a greener, smarter and safer state. The smart solar street lighting has already been installed along the PTTC building and is expected to be fully completed in November 2024.

Smart Solar Street Light Initiative by Pengurusan Murni Sdn Bhd (PMSB)

Pengurusan Murni Sdn Bhd (PMSB) is a subsidiary of Perak Industrial Resources Sdn Bhd (PIRSB), which is a wholly-owned company of the Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk).

In line with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 agenda, which emphasizes resource and natural sustainability, and the aspiration of making Perak a smart, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly state, PMSB, through PIRSB, has partnered with Aeroline Facilities & Engineering Services Sdn Bhd (ALFES). This collaboration was formalized and witnessed by the Chief Minister of Perak on May 10, 2023, with the state government planning to install 1,000 solar street lights across the state.

Through this strategic cooperation with ALFES, PMSB is introducing smart solar light technology from Sunna Design, a French company that has installed over 160,000 units in 60 countries, benefiting more than 15 million people. Sunna Design products are engineered for long lifespan, low operating costs, and are equipped with a real-time monitoring system via the SunnAPP application.

These solar lights from Sunna Design integrate aspects of safety, energy saving, and environmental sustainability. They not only improve road lighting levels but also help reduce electricity costs and carbon emissions, in line with the state's green aspiration.

On August 19, 2025, PKNPk organized an Engagement Session at Casuarina@Meru, attended by representatives from government agencies and local authorities (PBT) across Perak. This session focused on presentations and technical sharing regarding smart solar street lights, in an effort to expand the use of renewable energy in lighting infrastructure that is more sustainable and resilient.

The effectiveness of this project's implementation depends on the close cooperation of all parties, including Local Authorities (PBT), District and Land Offices (PDT), and government agencies, particularly in the aspects of energy savings, maintenance optimization, reduction of PBT operating costs, and ensuring the safety and comfort of the residents are constantly secured.
